Scandinavian leisure airline Primera Air has announced a new direct service linking Iceland and the city of Trieste in northern Italy.

According to Icelandic travel and tourism news website Turisti (link in Icelandic), the weekly flights will operated on Tuesdays from 30 May to 29 August 2017. The cheapest return fare is currently ISK 52,990 (approx. 390), plus extra for checked-in hold luggage.

As well as being a wonderful destination in its own right, Trieste is just under ninety minutes’ drive away from the stunning city of Venice.

Trieste is a brand-new scheduled destination for Iceland, the only other two Italian cities having previously been served being Rome and Milan.
