Three jets landing at London’s Heathrow Airport yesterday were struck by lightning, including one operated by Icelandair, according to UK media.

“Holiday makers returning from Iceland with Icelandair spoke of a ‘huge crack’ as lightning hit the wing of their plane,” reports the Telegraph.

The video below, taken from the ground, clearly shows the dark London skies and a lightning bolt striking an approaching aircraft.

According to the airline, the aircraft was not damaged by the strike and flew back to Iceland on schedule.
