Some evening flight arrivals postponed
A number of scheduled flights from Denmark, Poland and the United Kingdom due to land at Keflavík International Airport (KEF) this evening will not be arriving until tomorrow morning, thanks to the havoc caused by the current severe weather.
According to Icelandair Communications Officer Guðjón Arngrímsson, passengers flying with Icelandair who have already made the journey to the airport in London and Copenhagen have been put up in hotels for the evening.
The main road from Reykjavik to KEF has been closed and there are just a few tens of passengers waiting at the airport for a flight out of Iceland. These travellers are being looked after and informed by a member of staff from Isavia, the airport’s operators.
