The Mývatn nature baths have been closed for two days due to strike action by the Icelandic Professional Trade Association (SGS). Over a hundred tourists have come to closed doors. "Tourists can't just come back the next day," says managing director of the nature baths, Gunnar Atli Fríðuson.

Fríðuson explains that most of the tourists were quite understanding. "Some people have however asked, do people actually go on strike in Iceland?"

Whale watching companies in the north have also had to cancel trips due to the strike. Norðursigling in Húsavík reduced trips from five down to two per day.
