Blue whale waves its tail

"The blue whale waves its tail before diving down to swim, and this whale waved its tail for us twice yesterday," says Hörður Jónasson who sent these wonderful photographs from a whale watching trip taken yesterday in Skjálfandaflói bay, north Iceland.
Another blue whale was sighted only a few days ago. The species is the world's largest mammal and it measures 30 metres in length and weighs 190 tonnes.
