Icelandic Online is an Icelandic course which has proved extremely useful to students of Icelandic all around the world.
Icelandic Online is a project of the University of Iceland. It offers different levels of courses in Icelandic through the internet, free of charge.
A new web page which offers the latest version of the Icelandic course was launched at the Árni Magnússon institute recently by Minister of Culture Lilja Alfreðsdóttir.
Since 2004 over 200 thousand users have registered for the course.
The basic courses teach common and useful phrases. The most advanced focuses on Icelandic literary texts. Finish all the lessons and you might just be able to read centuries old Icelandic sagas for yourself in Icelandic.
