There's no snow in Reykjavik yet but for a real Christmas feel head to Ingólfstorg square to the gorgous ice-skating rink which opened earlier this month.

The skating rink, hosted by telephone communications company Nova in cooperation with Samsung and the City of Reykjavik is decorated with beautiful lights and will melt the hearts of young and old.

A Christmas village is located next to the rink which means you can indulge in hot chocolate or traditional gingerbread biscuits to warm up and browse through marketstalls.

Admission to the ice-skating rink is free and you can rent skates and helmets there for 990 ISK.

Opening hours are from 12- 10 pm.
