Iceland inspires a Topshop range
It seems that Iceland is the height of fashion as aspiring hipsters flock to the country to be swept away by the ethereal landscape and elfin indie music. Or something like that.
Now, British highstreet chain Topman, the stand-alone fashion business counterpart of Topshop, has brought out an entire range of clothing called "Icelanders."
Editor Dan Copley tells Topman shoppers to forget about chunky knits, snow boots and big beards which the name might imply.
"Thiis trend is the peak of ice cool minimalism. The Icelandic trend draws influence from the pared-back design and tonal palette of Northern Europe, creating a crisp transitional look that works anywhere.
You can see the two designers responsible for the range below but they do seem to be placing Iceland geographically with Scandinavia which is not correct. Anyway, we at Iceland Monitor actually think that the range does capture some trends in Icelandic men's fashion that are currently popular in some crowds - streetwear, nude colours, hoodies and sneakers.
