Reykjavik Jazz Festival
Reykjavík Jazz Festival celebrates jazz in all its forms, filling Reykjavik with tunes 12-16 August. The festival takes place at Harpa, Iceland’s largest concert hall, and the festival uses this great building to the fullest, utilising both the magnificent concert halls as well as the less formal parts of the house.
At the festival, artists from across the world meet up with locals to share their sound, as one of the Reykjavik Jazz Festival’s aims is to present the best in Icelandic music, and to connect Icelandic music with the international music scene.
The festival hosts performances in a variety of styles, from contemporary jazz and the avant-garde to Latin jazz, gospel and big bands. It features many acclaimed international Jazz players as well as Iceland’s leading jazz musicians.
