Party on, midnight sun!

The Secret Solstice Festival, an open-air music festival in Reykjavik, takes place for the second time this weekend. With over 10,000 guests and several stages within the lush greenery of Laugardalur park, some of the festival's highlights include FKA Twigs, Wu Tang Clan, Kelis, The Wailers and a host of Icelandic bands, with an emphasis on dance music.

The beautifully organised set-up includes a host of bars and food options, swings, and a hot tub. The festival started today at 2 pm and continues until late Sunday night, and being a summer solstice festival in Iceland, the sun will never set on party goers.

Iceland Monitor, inappropriately dressed in a winter coat and a Sonic Youth T-shirt checked out the atmosphere when the festival kicked off today. The weather, increasingly warm with a few rays of sun had already drawn a cheery crowd of revellers to the venue.
