Music festival Aldrei fór ég suður is one of the cultural highlights of the year. Bands, and people, flock to the picturesque town of Ísafjörður every Easter for an atmosphere that is quaint, cool and utterly charming.

Music director for the festival, Birna Jónasdóttir believes that the town spirit is what makes the festival so popular. " The people of Ísafjörður open their doors to all the visitors and are really good hosts. Everyone is happy at the festival and of course, the musicians performing are great. "

Among the artists playing were Mugison, Pink Street Boys, Júníus Meyvant and Prins Póló.

Here a few images of the festival which began on Thursday and ended last night.
