The Greenlandic women’s national handball team secured their place in IHF Women's World Championships in handball 2023 by winning Canada 17:15 in Nuuk in Greenland yesterday in the North and Central American qualifying competition.
This is the second time that the Greenland women’s national team has made it to the world finals, as it did in 2001 22 years ago.
The World Cup will take place in Denmark, Norway and Sweden in November and December of this year.
President of Iceland Guðni Th. Jóhannesson sent congratulations to Greenland on his Twitter, saying it was impossible to not be happy for the neighbouring nation.
