Iceland is one of the world’s biggest contributors to UNICEF, helping to fund important projects assisting children throughout the world.

A new UNICEF report reveals that Iceland is the fourth biggest per capita contributor of public money to the organisation, behind only Norway, Sweden and Luxembourg.

Most of the Icelandic aid goes to Mozambique, to fund projects for improving water and sanitation conditions in the countryside and schools of the province of Zambezia.

Iceland makes regular and emergency contributions to UNICEF, with other assistance going to Palestine and Malawi.
