Two tourists were stranded outside Grótta yesterday. Just before 6:30 pm yesterday, the tourists asked for the assistance of rescue teams to reach land, as announced by Landsbjörg rescue team.

The tourists had not been careful of the flooding and became stranded on the island.

Rescue workers from the rescue team Ársæll went on an inflatable boat to help and took to the shore in Grótta just around seven o’clock, and brought the people to land.

The people were in good condition, but Grótta was not walkable from land until 10 pm last night.

Two calls for damages

Earlier yesterday, the rescue team in Dalvík attended two calls about damage due to a storm. A roof window in the gym building blew off, and roof plates blew off another house.

The project was completed at about 3:30 pm yesterday.
