The Indian embassy in Iceland and the Icelandic food and vetenirary authority (MAST) have for the last couple of years working on obtaining permits to import Icelandic lamb to India. All negotiations have been completed and now Icelandic lamb will be available in India.

This is the second large international market to open this year for Icelandic lamb, as this autumn a contract for the export of Icelandic lamb to China was signed.

The first shipment of Icelandic lamb was dispatched to India in early October and further shipments have been organised for the next few weeks.
