Man charged with manslaughter for strangling girlfriend

A man was charged with manslaughter and serious domestic violence which occured this weekend. He used a choke hold on his girlfriend until she lost consciousness.
The man is 22 years old and his girlfriend is five years older. She also received several other injuries and is recovering in hospital. According to RÚV this is not the man's first offence towards the same woman.
