Murder victim identified

The woman who died after an attack in the western part of Reykjavik last Thursday night was called Sanita Brauna. She was 44 years old and from Latvia.

She leaves three children behind. This was announced from the Reykjavik Metropolitan Police. The Icelander arrested in conjunction with the attack was released. A man of foreign nationality is in police custody suspected of causing her death. 

A police investigation continues.
