207% increase in WOW passengers

Icelandic low cost airline WOW air transported 173.371 passengers to and from Iceland in December or approximately 207% more passengers than in December 2015. 

This was announced by the company today. The company will be adding three Airbus A321 ceo to the fleet, one Airbus A321neo and one Airbus A320neo, all of them operating on low-cost fuel. 

The number of tourists in Iceland increased by 506.000 people and WOW air's proportion in that increase is 38%.  This year, the company will be commencing flights to Miami and Pittsburgh which means that they will be operating between Iceland and seven destinations in the US.
