The Luxury Travel Guide has voted Iceland as destination of the year 2016. Several destinations within Iceland are also awarded. These are: the ION hotel for best luxury hotel in Iceland, the Blue Lagoon Clinic Hotel as the best spa, Hótel Rangá as the best boutique hotel, Icelandic Taxi Tours as the best way to get around, Íslenski hesturinn horse tours as the best specialised travel business, Super Jeep as the best travel service in Iceland and Goecco Eco Advenutres as the most ecologicallly sound travel business.
Recently the Rough Guide voted Reykjavik as one of the top ten cities to visit in 2016 and Iceland came fifth in the "people's choice" nominations by the Rough Guides.
