Cat strangling attempt in Reykjavik
Cat owner Fransiska Guðrún Hoffman wrote a Facebook page this morning reporting that her cat, Nói, returned home with a rope tightened around his neck.
"I'm at home crying over the evilness of mankind," she writes next to a photograph of the rope which Nói the cat had around his neck when he finally arrived home, eighteen hours later, soaking wet, cold, hungry and with an extremely swollen neck.
Speaking to mbl.is this morning, Hoffman explains that she had just moved to a new flat with Nói in postcode 104 Reykjavik. After Nói hadn't returned for a whole day, she went out searching for him. "When I had started calling he came home, with this rope tied really tightly around his neck. It was so tightly secured that I had trouble cutting it off with a knife." She is absolutely certain that this was done on purpose and that it was impossible for the cat to get caught in the rope by accident.
"Its scary that you can't let your cat go outside withour worrying. "
