Lobster trawler catches unexploded mine
Police had to shut down part of the port at Grindavík in south-west Iceland on Friday when it emerged that a docked vessel was carrying an unexploded mine in its trawl.
The ship, named Skinney SF 29, was carrying out deep-sea lobster fishing off the south-west coast of Iceland when it picked up a mine in its nets.
It was not known whether or not the landmine was live. Once the vessel had docked in Grindavík, the crew evacuated while the Icelandic Coast Guard disposed of the device.
