Úrsúla Örk Hafsteinsdóttir is a thirteen-year-old student at Austurbæjarskóli who waited in the Dunkin'Donuts line on Laugavegur for eleven hours. Her reward: A doughnut card that entitles her to six doughnuts every week for a whole year.

"I went outside Dunkin' Donuts with a couple of my classmates and started to wait in line," explains Úrsúla who lives in the city centre just near the famed US doughnut chain. So what did her parents think of that little venture? "When my family found out I was waiting in the line they thought it was very silly," she laughs. "I felt very silly myself but once I'd waited there for a while I thought, why not just stick it out seeing as I'm already here."

Over two hundred people waited outside the first branch of the famous doughnut chain in Reykjavik on Wednesday morning.  The first 50 customers of Dunkin'Donuts had been promised a coupon card in which they receive 6 doughnuts every week for a whole year.

Úrsúla adds that the atmosphere was good and that standing in line was actually pretty fun. Upon receiving her voucher she Instagrammed a photograph of herself and the card with the caption, "Hamingja." (Happiness).

The teenager is a big fan of Dunkin'Donuts and has tasted them abroad. "I absolutely love them. I think the Glazed Caramel is my favourite," she says and adds that she knows they're  probably terribly unhealthy. "But I can't help it, they're just so good. "

Six doughnuts have already been taken off her year-long Dunkin' Donuts coupon and Úrsúla shared them with her friends. Asked whether she's now being pestered by classmates for doughnuts she laughs with a loud, "Yes," and then adds, " I have suddenly become suspiciously popular."
