Guests to pay for Perlan's platform views
Visitors in one of Reykjavík's most famous landmark, Perlan – i.e. The Pearl, will have to pay to take in the scenic views from its balcony from 1st of September on.
An announcement from the building’s owners states that people from the age of 16 and up will pay 490 Króna for admission while those 15 and younger will still be allowed to enter for free. The same will go for the building’s ice cave and glacier exhibition.
The admission is said to be necessary due to higher maintenance and operating costs. More information stands will be put up on the balcony to make guests’ experiences better and more informative.
