Grímkell Pétur Sigurþórsson was going for a Sunday walk with his wife and daughter in the picturesque Reykjavik quarter of Seltjarnarnes when he came across two seemingly naked tourists who had squeezed themselves into a popular foot spa.
"We were just going on a Sunday walk during the beautiful but very cold weather, to take a look at the whale skeleton and the beach on Seltjarnarnes," says Sigþórsson to Iceland Monitor. "I was really surprised when I saw the tourists, I never would have thought that one, never mind two people could actually fit into it. But they seemed very happy with their find. Good on them."
Grótta, the shore on Seltjarnarnes is a very popular area for walks. The foot-spa is a small, man-made hot tub with geothermal water where people can soak their feet whilst soaking up the beautiful landscape around them.
The foot spa, located at rocks called Kisuklappir, is actually a work of art by Icelandic artist Ólöf Nordal, titled Kvika (Magma), set up in 2005.
Sigurþórsson kindly shared his photos from his Sunday walk with Iceland Monitor.
