An unusual amount of mice have been observed in South Iceland, and according to locals, more than ever before.

"I saw it clearly when the lights on my car lit up the highway in the night. Mice were literally everywhere, running all over the road and dancing on the side of the road. This was particularly noticable in Mýrdalur and under the Eyjafjöll mountains," says Sveinn Kr.Rúnarsson, head of police in South Iceland. "The mice are literally all over the place."
