Award winning chef opens new Reykjavik restaurant

Þráinn Freyr Vigfússon, former head chef of the Blue Lagoon restaurant and Kolabrautin, a restaurant inside Harpa concert hall, will be opening a new restaurant on Laugavegur, Reykjavik's main shopping street. 

The building formerly housed Bunk Bar and the rest of the building is being turned into a luxury Ion hotel branch. 

Acclaimed interior designer Hálfdán Pedersen, who has designed restaurants such as Dill, Snaps Bistro and Kex Hostel is responsible for the interiors. 

Vigfússon has coached the national team of Icelandic chefs in the last five years and competed in the Bocuse d'Or.
