PHOTOS: Iceland’s Eurovision entry

Last night saw the glittering conclusion of Iceland’s search for the country’s 2016 entry to the Eurovision Song Contest.

Six songs competed for the honour, with Greta Salóme taking the crown with her song ‘Hear Them Calling’. As well as the competing entries, the audience and TV viewers were treated to a medley of Icelandic classics, live performances from Eurovision royalty Sandra Kim and Loreen, and a thrilling voting sequence.

Greta and her team will be taking ‘Hear Them Calling’ to Stockholm, Sweden, this May to compete against 42 other nations for the Eurovision trophy. Iceland is performing in the first semi-final on Tuesday 10 May.
