Bedroom community on the road
Ten years of Bedroom Community.
In celebration of Icelandic record label Bedroom Community's 10th Anniversary in 2016, a number of Bedroom Community artists will be hitting the road for a collective "Whale Watching Tour" — for the first time since the 2010 WWT edition, which crossed Europe with memorable shows featuring Valgeir Sigurðsson, Ben Frost, Nico Muhly and Sam Amidon, along with many key collaborators.
Whale Watching Tour 2016 will be travelling to the USA for the very first time and this leg will only hit a few selected locations in March and April.
These include Providence, New York, Washington DC, Pittsburgh, Durham and Knoxville. Filmmaker Pierre-Alain Giraud documented the original Whale Watching Tour and his film Everything Everywhere All The Timeis available to watch on DVD together with its concert-film counterpart. The films explore the dynamic within the Bedroom Community collective on stage and off, provide a fantastic insight into the inner workings of the label back in 2010 - and are the perfect way to warm up for the 2016 anniversary and the upcoming edition of the Whale Watching Tour.
