The Innipúkinn festival, aimed at people who chose to stay in Reykjavik for the biggest travel weekend of the year, was sold out. The festival, which featured some of Iceland's most popular musical artists took place at Húrra and Gaukurinn in the city centre from Thursday until Monday night.

Innipúkinn is an Icelandic word which literally means "indoor demon" and was used to scold children who didn't want to go to play outside.

This year, the street in front of the venues was closed to traffic and wooden sales booths were put up and the road was turfed, creating an outdoor festival atmosphere. Amongst the artists playing were Gísli Pálmi, Steed Lord, Retro Stefsson, Mammút, Samúel Jón Samúelsson big band and Dikta.
