Tourist found dead at Reynisfjara beach

A tourist was found dead at Reynisfjara beach a few minutes ago. This was confirmed to mbl.is  by the South Iceland Chief of Police. 

Rescue teams were called out at 10.30 this morning because of a man in the ocean at Reynisfjara beach. It is not clear whether he was travelling alone or part of a group. Police are conducting an investigation on site. 

This accident takes place a day after the Chief Inspector of the South Iceland police called for more safety precautions on the beach.
