Reykjavik to get piece of Berlin Wall
Reykjavik City Council has accepted an offer from the New West Berlin art gallery in Germany to buy and permanently display a piece of the Berlin Wall in Reykjavik.
The Mayor of Reykjavik received the offer in May this year and the City Council approved the purchase yesterday.
The piece will be erected on permanently display somewhere in Icelandic capital and will cost the city an estimated ISK 1.5 million (approx. €10,400).
