Unidentified dead body found

The dead body of a young man has been found in Laxárdalur, near the town of Höfn in South Iceland.

South Iceland police received reports of a dead body yesterday afternoon, but the man has yet to be identified.

Members of the Höfn Police Force attended the scene immediately and various criminal investigators were flown in by helicopter.

The man was 1.86 m (6’11”) tall with fair shoulder-length hair. He was wearing black trainers, dark blue tracksuit bottoms and a Quicksilver hoodie. He is thought to have been dead for a number of months. The cause of death is as yet unknown.
