PM blackmail duo on second charge
The two sisters arrested on Friday for attempting to blackmail the Prime Minister of Iceland are allegedly now facing blackmail charges from a second man.
Reykjavik Metropolitan Police has confirmed that charges were filed this morning but declined to give details on the nature of the charges or the identity of those accused.
According to Iceland’s national broadcaster RÚV, reliable sources indicate that the charges involve Malín Brand and Hlín Einarsdóttir, the same two women arrested for attempting to blackmail the Prime Minister of Iceland, Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson.
Brand and Einarsdóttir, sisters, allegedly demanded ISK 700,000 (approx. €4,700) from the man in return for not accusing him publicly of a serious sexual offence.
