MPs forget differences for HeForShe
MPs from all political parties posed for a group photo in the Parliament gardens today in support of HeForShe.
A group of male Icelandic MPs of all political colours have come together for a group photograph in support of HeForShe, a UN Women solidarity campaign for gender equality.
The aim of the initiative is to engage men and boys as agents of change for the advancement of women’s rights by encouraging them to take action against the inequality faced by women and girls.
A press release from the MPs sets out that, despite their very real political differences, they are all as one when it comes to securing gender equality in all areas of life.
UN Women supports projects aimed at working towards stronger legislation and policies on the rights and lives of women, promoting education for young boys on gender equality, and improving women’s access to appropriate services.
