Pay your bus fare by card
Strætó, the Icelandic bus company serving the Greater Reykjavik area, has launched a new version of its smartphone application which enables passengers to pay their fare with a debit or credit card.
The Strætó app has been well received, according to the company, with some 50,000 ‘smart tickets’ being sold in the three months the app has been active. This latest update also enables passengers on international telephone numbers to pay for their bus fare electronically. Users of the Strætó app will apparently also be able to buy period passes, thanks to an update expected later this year.
The new version of the Strætó app is available for Android phones.
