The wife of the man who was stabbed to death in Ólafsfjörður last week is under the suspicion of having stabbed him with a knife last March. The Northeast Iceland police have a few other instances under scrutiny where the couple had been physically fighting.

This is revealed in the ruling of the Court of Appeal from October 5th this year, where the ruling of the District Court of a continuing custody for the wife was confirmed. However, she was released on October 7th.

It has been reported before by mbl.is that all the suspects in the case had prior sentences.

Did not want to go home

In the ruling of the District Court, which was published in the ruling of the Court of Appeal, the timeline of events is explained that fateful night. It is reported that some data suggest that the deceased man had sent someone to get his wife to another person’s home, where she allegedly was drinking and possibly doing drugs.

The wife did not seem willing to return to her home and when her husband heard that he decided to go himself to the house where she was. It is there where the stabbing occurs which led to his death. Another person on the premises also got seriously injured which seem to have been caused by a knife as well.

In the ruling it is reported that it is not known who was responsible for stabbing the man which led to his death.
