The emperor, who is 59 years old, began his reign in May, after the abdication of this father, Akihito. The ceremony, which took place in Tokyo, formalized Naruhito’s ascension.

Today, President Guðni visited Tokyo’s Tokai University, in which there is a department of Nordic studies.
