 Today thousands of Icelandic women walked out of work at 2:55 pm for the annual women's strike today to protest gender income inequality and violence and harassment in the workplace. 

Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir has announced that she will be joining in the demonstration by leaving work at 2.55 pm.
