Increase in work permits to Filipinos in Iceland
Foreign nationals from countries outside the EEA who have received work permits due to their field of expertise are on the increase in Iceland.
Between 2012 and 2017 temporary work permits for jobs requiring expertise amounted to 16 percent of all new work permits issued.
The top three nationalities receiving such work permits are Filipinos, then US citizens and then China. Most of the Filipinos are registered nurses.
