New poll shows that Icelanders trust National Coastguard most
A new poll conducted by Gallup shows that of all Iceland's institutions, it's the National Coastguard that's the most trusted. Almost 91 percent of Icelanders trust the National Coastguard, a similar figure to last year's poll.
Trust to the police is slightly lower than last year with 77 % of Icelanders trusting the police. Trust is also lowered for the National church and the justice system, both 7 % lower than last year.
This is the first time that the office of the President of Iceland comes second in the poll with 80 % of people saying that they have great trust in the presidency. Another trusted institution is the University of Iceland with 74 % and 65 % trust the National Health Care System.
