Icelandic MP holds new-born baby to breast during debate

Unnur Brá Konráðsdóttir, MP for Iceland’s Independence Party, addressed fellow MPs today holding her new-born baby to her breast.

MPs were debating and voting on legislation on foreign nationals in Iceland.

While the debate may have generated passion and disagreement among the politicians present, the young child did not make a sound all the time her mother was addressing the House.
