PM to attend London conference on Syria

Icelandic Prime Minister Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson will be among participants at an international conference for Heads of State to be held in London, UK, next week.

The conference, scheduled for 4 February, will discuss how best to support Syrians in their struggle to survive in their war-torn country.

Gunnlaugsson will be among the participants, confirms government press office Sigurður Már Jónsson, and will tell the conference about Icelandic government policy on financial aid for Syria and the reception of Syrian refugees in Iceland.
