PHOTOS: President Hollande in Iceland
François Hollande, President of France, made an official visit to Iceland last Friday to make a keynote speech at the Arctic Circle conference at Reykjavik’s Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre.
Hollande’s packed day schedule also included a trip to the Sólheimajökull glacier with the Icelandic President and First Lady and a reception at Reykjavik’s famous Höfði building.
The President rounded off his day with a sumptuous dinner at the President of Iceland’s official residence at Bessastaðir. The lobster starter was followed by a main course of ling and river trout and – appropriately – a dessert of French chocolate cake paired with Icelandic strawberries and blueberry skyr.
The President returned to France on his private jet later that evening.
