143 nurses decide not to resign
Over half of the 251 nurses who resigned over a pay and working conditions dispute with the Icelandic State have withdrawn their resignations.
This still leaves 108 resignations in force, most of which will become effective on 1 October, and which would still conceivably have a serious effect on hospital operations.
According to Páll Matthíasson, CEO of the National University Hospital of Iceland (‘Landspítali’), things seem to be moving at the right direction.
