Independence Party still supports Kristjánsdóttir

Following the report made by the ombudsman of Alþingi on former Minister's Hanna Birna Kristjánsdóttir misconduct in the case of the Tony Omos leak, leader of the Independence Party Bjarni Benediktsson stated that she still has trust within the party. He added that the case had been damaging for her but that it is up to her whether she wants to return to Parliament.
Benediktssson spoke to journalists yesterday for the first time since the report was published on Friday. Earlier in the day the party had held a meeting where Kristjánsdóttir's situation was discussed.
