According to Isavia, a total of 12 Play flights were canceled at Keflavík Airport today, affecting around 1,750 passengers.

In a statement released just now, Isavia stated that immediately after Play announced its intention to cease operations, Keflavík Airport’s contingency plan for airline shutdowns was activated and is now being implemented.

“A total of 12 Play flights were canceled at KEF today — six departures and six arrivals — affecting approximately 1,750 passengers,” the statement said.

“Airport staff have been assisting Play passengers on-site throughout the day, informing them about the situation and their rights in line with guidance provided by the Icelandic Transport Authority’s website.”

The statement also noted that Play’s outstanding debts to Keflavík Airport are limited to August and September, and Isavia will take all necessary legal steps to collect those payments.
