The town festival Í túninu heima in Mosfellsbær opened yesterday and will run throughout the weekend. The festival has become a tradition, with residents themselves creating the atmosphere by inviting people into their gardens, hosting street barbecues, and organizing a variety of events.

Among today’s events, Mosfellsbær and Mosfellsbakarí will offer a 20th anniversary cake between 3 and 4 p.m. at Mosfellsbakarí. Admission is free for all festival guests.

The Tindahlaup mountain run begins at Fellið, near the Varmá sports center. Participation is at a record high, with nearly 500 runners registered.

Álafosskvos will be full of life from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., starting at 11 with the puppet bus presenting a show about Lilli, Dusk, and their friends, followed by numerous bands performing. Face painting will also be available.

Later, Afturelding will host a Pallaball dance party at Hlégarður this evening. Doors open at 9 p.m.

Details about the festival program can be found on Mosfellsbær’s website.
