The Icelandic Meteorological Office has added a third yellow weather warning, with forecasts predicting strong winds and heavy rain this evening.

Yesterday, yellow warnings were issued for South Iceland and the Central Highlands. Now, Faxaflói has been added to the list.

Southeasterly winds of 13–18 m/s and significant rainfall are expected. There is a risk of tents blowing away, and the public is advised to secure loose objects. Sharp wind gusts are also expected near mountains, creating hazardous conditions for vehicles sensitive to strong winds.

The yellow warning for Faxaflói takes effect at 6 p.m., and at 9 p.m. for South Iceland and the Central Highlands. All warnings are expected to expire between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. tonight.
