A heatwave is expected across much of the country tomorrow, according to Haraldur Eiríksson, meteorologist at the Icelandic Meteorological Office, who says temperatures could exceed 20°C in all regions.
"We’re looking at warm conditions nationwide—this can really be classified as a heatwave. The weather will be clear, with few clouds and very warm temperatures across the country. The highest temperatures could reach between 25 and 28 degrees Celsius,” he said.
Similar temperatures are expected on Tuesday, though they may not reach quite as high.
Later in the week, the warm weather is set to continue, but rain and showers are also forecast in many parts of the country.
