Andrea wins for the fifth time – Þorsteinn defends his title

Þorsteinn Roy Halldórsson successfully defended his title, winning the Laugavegur Ultra Marathon for the second year in a row. Andrea Kolbeinsdóttir claimed victory in the women’s category for the fifth consecutive year.
More than 800 runners set off from Landmannalaugar at 9 a.m., traversing the Laugavegur trail and finishing in Húsadalur. Conditions were favorable throughout the course, with temperatures rising as runners neared the finish line.
Þorsteinn was the first to cross the finish line, completing the race in 4 hours, 5 minutes, and 5 seconds. Þorbergur Ingi Jónsson followed 5 minutes and 33 seconds later. Third overall was British runner Andrew Douglas, finishing in 4:17:16. The third Icelander to finish was Stefán Pálsson, clocking in at 4:21:56.
Andrea completed the race in 4:29:33. Elísa Kristinsdóttir followed 29 minutes and 50 seconds later, securing second place, while Anna Berglind Pálmadóttir came in third.
